The Role
As a Business Development Manager within the Commercial Construction sector, your role involves driving business growth and fostering positive relationships. Here are the key responsibilities:
Drive Business Growth:
- Identify Opportunities: Take an active approach to identify new business opportunities.
- Bid Management: Complete construction bids and monitor bid activity.
- Proposal Coordination: Coordinate and assist in the proposal process.
- Proposal Templates: Build a construction proposal template library for the entire sales department.
- Client Engagement: Convince prospects and current customers to buy into your offerings.
- Market Insights: Identify market opportunities and create development plans and growth projects.
Collaborate at Different Levels:
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with estimators, customers, decision-makers, and contractors.
- Estimator Feedback: Seek feedback and input from estimators during the bidding process.
- Client Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with potential clients.
- Internal Alignment: Build rapport with decision-makers within the company to gain approval for business development initiatives.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure timely project outcomes.
Effective Communication:
- Strategic Communication: Master excellent communication skills to convey the right messages at the right moments.
Analytical Skills and Research:
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis and understand the competitive landscape.
- Confidence Building: Use research to bring new prospects to the table and gain confidence in driving business growth.

Requirements
- A degree in Construction Management is highly valued.
- Degrees in Business Management or Sales are also acceptable when combined with relevant experience.
- Industry-Specific Knowledge: Familiarity with construction processes, regulations, and industry trends is advantageous.
